Just in time for Halloween, a.k.a. the beginning of ‘indoor season’ here in New York, The House of Cannabis (THC NYC) is offering a fresh lineup of events and services (and even seeds) to help keep your spirits up and your thumbs green all winter long.
This month, the four-story SoHo museum, café-slash-giftshop, and event space, which opened earlier this year, introduced some new features on its ground floor, including an entire display on seeds and home cultivation — with actual seeds for sale — by Royal Queen Seeds.
As Honeysuckle Mag first reported, THC NYC also recently announced its new partnership and delivery program with Union Square Travel Agency (USQTA), one of New York’s first licensed adult-use dispensaries. The new ground-floor kiosks allow adult museum visitors to view and purchase products from USTA, and then to continue browsing the museum until their delivery arrives.
This arrangement is the first of its kind in New York, and utilizes what’s allowed by MRTA for a mutually supportive, fully legal partnership for two of NYC’s earliest legal, cannabis-focused businesses.
“This is a great way for us to advertise for Union Square Travel Agency and give them a marketing tool they can leverage, and a great partnership to give us access to cannabis directly,” explained Matt Cohen, Chief Marketing Officer for THC NYC, during an in-person interview and tour for Forbes.
In addition, Cohen said, the partnership will help the museum to build up the cultural and community-based aspects of its work in the city.
“Getting people excited about spending multiple hours here, whether in the museum, the Green Room lounge upstairs, or just spending time with their friends, is a big part of cultivating that culture here,” he said.
To a similar end, THC NYC will also be hosting two much-anticipated parties this month that will give guests the chance to check out the museum’s standing and newest exhibits as well as seasonal festivities and vibes.
On October 28, THC NYC is hosting AFROPUNK Halloween House, and on October 31, the museum will also welcome Halloween enthusiasts for the Aliens Have Landed Soiree, a HighGarden x THC Museum Collab.
